Bringing our diverse experiences together, we saw an opportunity to have a far-reaching impact in real estate. Our journey has been a testament to resilience and teamwork, transforming challenges into opportunities and creating a thriving, supportive community in the process.
Joe: Our journey together began in 2015 when I was managing my paint and construction business and owned an indoor cycling studio. I was looking for a fitness instructor when I met Jocelyn, who had years of experience. She applied for the position, and we quickly became friends. Our professional relationship blossomed into a personal one, and we soon found ourselves envisioning a future together, both personally and professionally.
In 2016, we were looking for a shared venture that would allow us to use our complementary skills to have a greater impact. I received my real estate license in 1989, but it was only from 2007 to 2010 that I used it, marketing and selling the homes we built—and I loved it! For my entire life, I have been surrounded by family members in the trades and construction business who shared the simple philosophy that your earnings depend on how hard you are willing to work. Real estate was a great way to do just that and, along the way, help someone through one of life’s most significant decisions.
Due to the market crash, I had to step away from real estate, but it had always lingered in the background as something I wanted to do one day again. In 2016, Jocelyn and I decided to venture into real estate together. Jocelyn, with her business skills honed from running her own gym, along with my skills in construction and previous experiences in real estate, made us confident we could help a lot of people as REALTORS®.
As we honed our skills and began to see our efforts pay off in many happy homeowners and sellers, we decided to get married in Hawaii in 2018. This was just the start of our journey together!
Jocelyn: Managing the gym, all while building our real estate business, was incredibly fulfilling but also demanding. However, I loved doing both: educating and connecting with people through real estate and helping people achieve their fitness goals. It was a lot to juggle, but I was determined to keep both businesses running smoothly. Joe and I are a great team, and I was confident we could handle anything life threw our way.
That was put to the test when COVID-19 brought unprecedented challenges. Everything came to a halt and forced us to make the difficult decision to close the gym. It was a heart-wrenching choice, as the gym was not only a business but a community I had built and nurtured. However, as one door closed, another opened.
With our full attention on real estate, we could leverage our business skills and ability to connect with people authentically to enhance our real estate operations. We received the opportunity to open our own real estate office with Century 21. We were able to build a team, and in 2023, we further expanded by transitioning to LPT Realty, which provided us with even more growth opportunities!
The community aspect of the gym that I loved so much has translated to our real estate business. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive, family-like environment where our agents can thrive, and our clients feel welcome. The obstacles we faced—balancing multiple businesses, navigating the impacts of COVID-19 and taking the risk to go independent—have all contributed to our growth and success.
Looking back, the challenges we overcame together have strengthened our relationship and our business. Initially, we set modest goals for ourselves, but as we achieved each milestone, we realized the importance of expanding our vision and pushing beyond our perceived limits. This shift in mindset has enabled us to transform challenges into opportunities and surpass our own expectations time and time again!
We pride ourselves on turning clients into lifelong friends, personalizing each experience and maintaining high responsiveness. With both of us working in your corner, we can offer continuous support and a broad perspective on solving any challenges that arise. Joe’s expertise in new construction and land acquisition enhances our services, enabling us to guide clients through the complexities of building new homes and spotting potential issues in a property to avoid unexpected surprises later down the road. We protect our clients' best interests, always!
In our free time, we love to golf, cycle, travel, and enjoy our animals, including our pig, Wallace, and our chickens. We stay active in our community, too, allowing us to offer great recommendations to our clients for anything and everything they may need! Every Wednesday on social media, we do a small business shoutout and often give away gift cards to support them. We also like to participate in community activities, sponsor events such as golf tournaments and support important causes.
Sincerely,
Joe & Jocelyn Maggi
